Why this course

Handwriting matters, in the digital world too

Writing by hand does work that typing cannot. It engages the memory and focus pathways of the brain, so students retain more of what they learn, and it sharpens expression: ideas, personal voice and clear communication all show on a well-written page. It is also the one skill a child uses in every subject and every exam.

Yet handwriting is rarely taught after the first years of school, so by the time it is a problem it is a habit. Live correction is the point of teaching this online: the camera sits on the page, the tutor watches the pen move and corrects the stroke as it happens, which no worksheet can do.

What we teach

For every age and every writing goal

Four kinds of writer come to these classes. Every course is personalised, and every student progresses at their own pace.

01Young writersAges 5–10Strong habits built from the start: grip, posture, basic strokes and letter formation, taught through guided practice that keeps young hands busy and young minds engaged.Grip and postureLetter familiesSpacingPrint foundations
02Students heading into examsAges 10–17Speed and legibility under time pressure. Writing at length against the clock while the letters stay readable, because clear, efficient writing earns marks in every subject.Speed with neatnessExam-length passagesClean presentationNote-taking
03Adults and professionalsAny ageHandwriting polished for daily notes, formal writing and a hand you are happy to sign with. The same method as for children, taken at an adult pace, because it is never too late to write well with ease.Everyday legibilityPersonal styleFormal writingComfortable speed

The benefits

Learning, confidence and expression

Better handwriting reaches well beyond the page.

Memory and learning

Handwriting activates the memory and focus areas of the brain, so students retain and understand more of what they study.

Neat, consistent writing

Guided practice produces clearer, more consistent letters, and the improvement shows in schoolwork and everyday writing alike.

Speed with neatness

A step-by-step approach raises writing pace while the neatness holds, exactly what timed tasks and exams demand.

Confidence and pride

A page a student is proud of builds self-esteem and motivation, and that carries into every subject they write for.

Focus areas

How better handwriting is built

The method behind every class, whatever the student's age or starting point.

Assessment before teaching

Every course opens by observing grip, posture, letter formation, spacing and speed, so teaching starts from what the writing actually shows.

Multisensory technique

Strokes and letters are taught through proven multisensory methods that train the eye and the hand together, building genuine fluency.

Feedback and practice

Corrections land the moment a stroke goes wrong, and review sheets with short home drills turn each correction into a habit.

How it works

How a handwriting course runs

Diagnose the habit, rebuild the stroke, then build speed back up.

01

Writing sample

The student writes a short passage on camera in the free class. The tutor observes grip, posture, letter formation, spacing and speed rather than guessing from a photograph.

02

Grip, posture and stroke

How the student sits and holds the pen is corrected first. Letters are then rebuilt in families grouped by the movement they share, so one correction fixes many letters at once.

03

Spacing, alignment and flow

Size, slant and spacing trained on ruled paper matching the school ruling, so the page reads clean, even and clear.

04

Speed without stress

Guided drills raise writing pace step by step while the neatness holds, finishing with timed, exam-length passages.

Every programme is taught one to one by a specialist, on the principles set out in our coaching methodology, under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system. Parents' own accounts are on our reviews page.

Parents ask

Before you enrol

At what age can a child start?
Around five or six, once fine motor skills can support letter formation. Teens join for exam speed, and adults are welcome: the method is the same, and the pace is set to the writer.
How soon does the writing improve?
Most students show visible improvement within four to six weeks of regular classes and short daily practice, and continued classes make the change permanent.
Do you teach cursive as well as print?
Yes. Courses cover print, cursive and speed writing, and students who want to go further can explore creative script and calligraphy styles.
My child is left-handed. Does that change the course?
Yes. Paper angle, grip and the position of the light are different for a left-handed writer, and the course adjusts rather than teaching a right-handed stroke.
Can you help with dysgraphia or a diagnosed writing difficulty?
Yes, with patient, tailored support. Tutors use techniques suited to fine motor and learning difficulties, focused on progress and confidence, and where a school or clinician has set a programme they work alongside it. Tell the advisor at the trial class so the right tutor is matched.
Can handwriting really be taught over video?
Yes, and in one respect it is better. The camera is positioned on the page, so the tutor sees the hand and the stroke close up for the whole lesson.
How much practice is needed between classes?
Ten minutes a day. Handwriting is motor memory, so little and often beats one long session at the weekend.
