Math tutoring for students across Canada
Matched to your province’s curriculum and, in the senior years, to the exact course code your child is enrolled in.
A de-streamed Grade 9 leaves individual gaps, not a common one
Ontario replaced streamed Grade 9 mathematics with a single de-streamed course, MTH1W. One class now holds a much wider range of readiness than it used to, and the syllabus moves at one pace through it. The result is that students arrive in Grade 10 with gaps that are genuinely individual rather than predictable from their stream.
That is a diagnostic problem before it is a teaching problem. British Columbia has a different shape again: numeracy is assessed through a graduation assessment rather than a subject exam, so a student can be comfortable in class and still be unprepared for the kind of applied, multi-step question that assessment asks.
Math across every grade group in Canada
Tutors start from a diagnostic in the free trial, then teach what your child’s class is covering now. Examinations supported: EQAO, the BC numeracy assessment, Waterloo contests and Grade 12 marks.

The real problem is rarely more practice
"He did fine in Grade 9 and is struggling in Grade 10."
Common since de-streaming. Grade 10 assumes algebraic fluency that a single de-streamed course covers at one pace for a very wide range of students. The trial class finds which specific Grade 9 expectations did not land.
"Her Grade 12 average decides her offers."
Which is why Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors and Data Management are the courses families most often come to us about. A weak first-term unit in MHF4U is expensive by the time offers are made in spring.
"We moved from Ontario to BC and the course names are different."
They are, and so is the sequence. We confirm the province and the course before matching a tutor, then work from your child’s own course material rather than a national average.
"Is EQAO something to worry about?"
It is a provincial assessment of curriculum expectations rather than an examination with a grade attached. We support the numeracy it assesses as curriculum work, not as test prep.

How tutoring runs for Canadian families
Matched to your province, scheduled from Newfoundland through to Pacific time.
Free trial class
A real lesson, and a report on where your child stands against their provincial curriculum rather than a national average.
Province and course check
We confirm the province and the exact course code before a tutor is matched, then work from your child’s own course material.
Weekly slot in your time zone
Evenings and weekends across six time zones, with the same tutor each week.
Progress before report cards
Regular parent-teacher meetings, and one on demand whenever you ask, so you are not learning about a problem from the report card.
The same approach applies to every subject: our coaching methodology explains how a lesson is planned, marked and followed up. You can also see everything we teach in Canada or read reviews from parents.
What families say about math
“We bumped into Augment Edutech during covid as all classes were closed for our son and then we never realised that he will continue the same for 3.5 years. Both Ms. Sangeeta to Ms. Jyoti were extremely patient in teaching and made the classes so enjoyable. There is no pressure on learning and the kids are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them. They also have a fairly strong tech system where kids can take tests and practise. Really value to base of math what my son got to learn with them. Very highly recommend Augment Edutech.”

“The whole concept of abacus is to learn maths in a quite fun, encouraging & by fostering an interest in numbers and basic mathematics. We are so happy that our child enjoy learning maths.”
Denmark
“My son started with precalculus and calculus, and I am happy to see his progress in 3 months. He is more clear with the concepts and I fee happy to see him helping other students.”
