Online tutoring for students across Canada
Education is provincial, so the first question we ask is which province. An Ontario course and its British Columbia equivalent are not the same thing.
Pick the subject.
We match the teacher.
Every tutor teaches one subject to one child, to the Ontario curriculum rather than to a syllabus of our own.
What Canadian families come to us with
The province matters more than families expect. Ontario de-streamed Grade 9 mathematics into a single MTH1W course, which changed what Grade 10 assumes. British Columbia assesses numeracy through a graduation assessment rather than a subject exam. Tutoring that ignores the difference wastes the first month.
The other pattern is Grade 12. Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors and Data Management carry the marks that university admissions actually read, and a weak unit in the first term is expensive by the time offers are made.
The curriculum your child is graded on in Canada
Tutors work from your child’s own school material and assessments. The school year runs early september to late june, reported in two or three terms.
| Stage | Curriculum taught | Grades | Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elementary | Ontario and British Columbia curricula across number, algebra, data and spatial sense | Grades 1-6 | Classroom assessment |
| Junior and intermediate | Ontario Grade 9 mathematics is de-streamed as MTH1W; BC curricular competencies | Grades 7-9 | EQAO in Ontario |
| Secondary | Provincial courses and the BC graduation program | Grades 10-12 | Provincial and graduation assessments |
| University preparation | Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, Data Management, Grade 12 English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics | Grade 12 | Course marks used for admission averages |

We confirm the province and the exact course code before a tutor is matched, then work from your child’s own course material.
Weekly slot in your time zone
Evenings and weekends across six time zones, with the same tutor each week.
Progress before report cards
Regular parent-teacher meetings, and one on demand whenever you ask, so you are not learning about a problem from the report card.
How a lesson is planned and taught is set out in our coaching methodology, and the quality system behind it is ISO 9001:2015 certified. If you would rather hear it from families first, read what parents say about us, or see who we are.
You hear it from the teacher, in Canada time.
Regular parent-teacher meetings are part of the programme, and you can ask for one whenever you want. Classes sit in Newfoundland through to Pacific time, and the school year runs early september to late june, reported in two or three terms.
