Maths tutoring for students across Australia
Australian Curriculum v9 through Year 10, and your state’s own senior mathematics courses in Years 11 and 12.
Senior maths is a state subject, and the streams are not interchangeable
Through Year 10 the Australian Curriculum gives a common national spine. In Years 11 and 12 that stops. New South Wales runs Mathematics Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2; Victoria runs General, Methods and Specialist; Queensland runs General and Methods. These are different courses with different assumptions, and choosing the wrong stream in Year 11 is the single most consequential maths decision an Australian student makes.
There is a live complication in New South Wales. The new Stage 6 mathematics syllabus is taught to Year 11 from 2026 and first examined in the HSC in 2027. Content is closely aligned to the previous syllabus and the course names are unchanged, but questions are more integrated across concepts, and the cohort has fewer past papers written for their exact course. That changes how preparation should be planned, not what has to be learned.

The real problem is rarely more practice
"We moved states and she is suddenly behind."
The most common reason Australian families contact us. Through Year 10 the content is largely national, so the gap is usually sequence rather than substance. In Years 11 and 12 it can be genuinely different content, and the trial class establishes which.
"He is in Year 11 in NSW and the syllabus has changed."
It has. Course names are the same and the content is closely aligned, but questions are more integrated and there are fewer past papers for his exact course. Preparation leans more on working unfamiliar multi-concept problems and less on paper repetition.
"Should she take Methods or General?"
Methods assumes algebraic fluency and is a prerequisite for most quantitative degrees. General is a genuine course, not a lesser one, but it closes some doors. We give you a read from marked work before the choice is locked in.
"Is NAPLAN worth preparing for?"
Prepare the numeracy, not the test. NAPLAN reflects the underlying skill, and drilling the format produces a number that does not survive contact with Year 9 maths.

How tutoring runs for Australian families
Australian Curriculum and your state syllabus, in AEST, ACST or AWST.
Free trial class
A real lesson, and a report on where your child sits against their year level rather than against the class they happen to be in.
State and syllabus check
We confirm the state before matching a tutor, because Years 11 and 12 follow the state certificate rather than a single national syllabus.
Weekly slot in your time zone
After school and weekends across eastern, central and western time, with the same tutor each week.
Term-aligned progress
Parent-teacher meetings that fit the four-term year, with an honest read before each assessment block rather than after it.
The same approach applies to every subject: our coaching methodology explains how a lesson is planned, marked and followed up. You can also see everything we teach in Australia or read reviews from parents.
