42 basic sounds
We teach the 42 core sounds in English—each individual letter sound and common letter combinations. By mastering these sounds first, children can confidently blend them to read any word they encounter.
Spelling pattern
Students learn common spelling rules, like consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words and vowel teams (e.g., “ea” or “oi”). Understanding these patterns helps children spell words accurately instead of guessing.
Word analysis
Kids break words into smaller parts—syllables, prefixes, and suffixes—to see how they fit together. This step-by-step approach makes tough words feel simpler and builds strong decoding skills.
Ace spelling
Our “ACE” method shows children how to spell words by focusing on sound first, then checking the letters. This systematic process reduces spelling mistakes and boosts writing confidence.
Sound through action
We use hands-on activities—like clapping out beats, tapping for each sound, or acting out letter shapes—to make learning fun and memorable. Moving and speaking helps kids lock in each phonics rule.
Build reading comfort
Through gentle practice and guided reading sessions, students gain fluency and confidence. By reading familiar phonics-based passages, they feel at ease and excited to tackle new stories.
11 advanced phonics rules
Once the basics are solid, children learn 11 advanced rules, such as diphthongs, silent letters, and r-controlled vowels (“ar,” “er,” “ir”). These tricky patterns unlock more complex words and prepare them for fluent reading.
